Memorial Day Weekend and some Chicken Love

It has been a while since I last posted.  Over a year!  I would like to keep up on my blog this summer and share some of our gardening, outdoor, country living adventures.  We have had some exciting times, as we added chickens to our little farmette.  It has been so fun for all of us.  The kids are sure enjoying the adventure, so I thought I would share.  Also, we had such a nice Memorial Day weekend as a family.  Many graduation open houses, our small town parade, and time at home working in the garden and finishing up the coop.  So I'd like to share some of our adventures in pictures today.

No celebration is complete without Root Beer Floats

And now our chickens and coop.  We purchased a shed from a local builder and added the finishing touches we needed to turn it into a coop.  The boys and I are going to do some landscaping and fill in with fresh herbs, as that is some of the chickens favorite treats!

The kids are enjoying the chickens as you can see.  I am hoping to update on my garden next week.  We have had a lot of rain, and I was hoping to get out today to finish up planting but it is just too wet.  I need to plant my corn, and finish up on the carrots, beans, sunflowers and the pumpkin patch. I hope you will feel free to join me as I share my view of country living in the Midwest!

From My Home to Yours,

Shannon
